NHSScotland 70th Anniversary

On 5 July 2018, the NHS will celebrate its 70th Anniversary.

NHSScotland and the Scottish Government will be working with a wide range of partners to celebrate 70 years of the NHS in Scotland. We want everyone to get involved – from patients and the public to NHS Boards, our partners in health and social care and the voluntary sector, professional bodies, and unions.

It’s a great opportunity to look back and celebrate 70 years of achievement in Scotland and the difference the NHS has made to people’s lives, and to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to the founding principles of the NHS.

It will allow us to thank staff across NHSScotland and its partners for their hard work and commitment, and to demonstrate their achievement and successes, whilst acknowledging the challenges they face.

In the months ahead, we’ll be encouraging people to get involved, not just in the celebrations, but in their NHSScotland – whether through volunteering or giving blood, or thinking about how to best look after our NHS by using services wisely.
